A fast, collaborative code editor for humans and AI
Zed is a code editor designed for speed and collaboration with humans and AI. It supports editing files, navigating code, running tools, chatting with teammates, coding together, and sharing screens and projects.
The editor is written from scratch in Rust and uses multiple CPU cores and the GPU. Its agent features can run agents in parallel, and its collaborative features support multiplayer coding. Zed is available for macOS, Linux, and Windows.
Highlights
Fast. Actually fast, not 'fast for Electron'. The agent panel is restrained, which I like: it does what I ask and stops. Rust support is excellent. Still missing a couple of plugins I want, hence not a perfect fit for everyone.
