About Firecrawl

Firecrawl is a context API for AI systems and agents that search, scrape, map, crawl, and interact with the live web. It converts web sources into clean Markdown, JSON, screenshots, or other structured data.

The service is designed for developers and can connect to AI agents or MCP clients through its API, Python and Node.js libraries, CLI, or MCP. Its interaction feature lets users scrape a page and operate it using AI prompts or code.

Firecrawl offers a free starting option, and the site mentions two months free on annual plans. It is also open source, with a public GitHub repository.

Turns the web into clean markdown for the pipeline without me maintaining scrapers. The search endpoint is decent. Pricing scales badly for big crawls; we self-host for those.
