Hands-on technical tutorials generated for learning by doing
Lathe generates single-part or multi-part technical tutorials from prompts and presents them in a local web UI. It is designed for people who want to work through tutorials themselves rather than have an LLM complete the work for them.
The project combines a Go CLI with LLM skills that can run in Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, opencode, Cline, and Windsurf. Tutorials can be searched, filtered, managed, questioned, verified, and extended with additional parts.
Tutorials record their sources, the model used, and the prompt that shaped the tutorial. Lathe is available as a public GitHub repository and runs locally with lathe serve.
