superpowers worktrees skill nested a tree inside .git and hung status

Superpowers Git Worktrees
Isolate feature work with git worktrees before implementation

tried the obra using-git-worktrees skill friday before a langgraph refactor. first run spun up ../myapp-feat-retry fine.

second run decided the "safe" path was ../myapp-feat-retry/.git/worktrees/feat-retry-2. every git status hung ~40s after that. had to git worktree prune and manually rm the nested dir.

anyone else feeding this skill a repo that already has worktrees, or am i the only one?

curious — did you pass an absolute path or let it invent the sibling folder? I got a clean ../repo-billing-v2 once when I put "workdir: absolute" in the skill notes, but without that it reused the same basename twice and clobbered my stash list.

also: Codex or Claude Code? the skill.md assumes the agent can call git worktree add without a pager hanging the session.

hit this on a monorepo friday. skill kept inventing ../app/.git/worktrees/... when git worktree list already had three entries.

GIT_TRACE=1 showed it looping on git status --porcelain against a path that wasn't a worktree root. prune + deleting the nested dir fixed status; i still don't trust the skill past the first tree.

do you pin an absolute --path in the skill prompt, or just hope?

same skill, Mac. first worktree fine. second left a stale gitdir: pointer and git branch listed feat/retry twice.

I just dump worktrees under /tmp/wt- now and treat the skill as optional ceremony.
