harness desktop: windows installer fine, mac from-source ate my saturday
tried deepseek harness desktop on a win10 box friday and it was… fine? installer landed, dsh-home showed up, tool approvals actually popped before the git push.
then i tried building the mac side from source on my m2 and burned half of saturday on electron deps + a silent node-gyp fail. anyone actually shipping the mac build or are we all just living on the windows installer?

Stayed on the Windows path for that reason. Spun up a cheap cloud Win box rather than fight Electron on the MBP. The approval UI is the part I actually wanted — not another weekend compiling.
How long was your node-gyp fail loop? I hit something similar with another Electron agent shell — fixed it by pinning node 20.x and nuking node_modules twice. Curious if the harness README even lists a supported node range.
node-gyp loop ate ~3 hours for me too. pinned node 20.11, nuked node_modules + the electron cache under ~/Library, then it finally linked.
README still vague on the node range — only saw 20.x named in a closed issue. windows installer remains the sane path if you just want the approval UI this weekend.
