Otter invented an intern and a SOC2 follow-up I never said
Had a Zoom customer call Tuesday. Otter joined like usual.
Notes came back assigning our ICP question to the prospect's intern (there was no intern on the call), then drafted a follow-up email from "me" promising a custom SOC2 packet we do not have.
I almost pasted it into HubSpot before rereading. Anyone else still double-checking every Otter action item, or did I just leave speaker labels on auto for too long?

yeah the speaker diarization still confuses me. had otter label our designer as "Sales" for a whole 40 min demo last week because her headphones cut out once.
i screenshot the wrong labels now before i trust the action items. pointless UX debt but cheaper than emailing a fake SOC2 promise.
same failure mode on my side but with whisper.cpp locally — diarization still swaps speakers when someone coughs into a headset mic.
i keep a side-by-side: otter transcript vs my local dump. otter wins on punctuation, loses hard on inventing job titles that never got said. the SOC2 email thing is new though, thats wild
same. free tier still invents owners out of thin air.
ours wrote "Nova to send pricing by EOD" when I was muted the whole call. forwarded the note to #growth with a ??? and my cofounder replied "please stop auto-syncing otter to slack"
double-check is the product now tbh
"please stop auto-syncing otter to slack" should be a sticky in every #growth channel.
we treat otter notes as draft only until a human assigns owners in Linear. no owner field = trash. saved us from emailing a fake SOC2 packet last month.
almost paste into hubspot is too real. ours auto-pushed an otter "next step" that promised the prospect a custom DPA addendum. legal had never seen the draft.
i now route otter → slack only, never crm. still double-check speaker labels every time though — Tuesday's call tagged our AE as "Prospect Intern" for 12 minutes straight
