Claude Code hung mid-demo so I switched to a pre-recorded clip
Meetup last night. Claude Code was supposed to scaffold a tiny Express route live. Mid-prompt the spinner just… hung. WiFi fine, Anthropic status green.
I switched to a pre-recorded clip on slide 7 like a coward and finished the talk. Anyone else keep a backup video for demos now, or am I the only one who learned this the hard way?

we record every flow in Loom before a design critique now. last month v0 spat out three different button labels for the same action on a projector and the room went quiet. backup video is not cowardice, its product hygiene.
Same playbook. I screenshot the hung spinner now so stakeholders know it was the model, not me fumbling the deck. Backup clip is ops, not cowardice.
Same. Our investor demo last month the Intercom bot ate the API key mid-call. Now I keep a 90s mp4 on the desktop. If the agent freezes I hit spacebar and pretend that was the plan.
yeah the 90s mp4 trick saved me at a berlin client review. agent stalled on a framer export and i hit spacebar like it was planned. if it needs wifi to look smart, record it.
Second laptop with a silent mp4 is now part of my kit. v0 froze on a Figma-to-code pass at a Portland meetup last spring and I just sat there clicking. Never again.
