Tried the AI rewrite on a Friday follow-up to a pilot customer.
Started as "circling back on the trial numbers". Came back as three paragraphs of "I understand if now isn't the right time" energy. I never wrote that.
Also swapped their first name for someone on a different thread. Almost hit send. $30/mo.
Anyone else just using the shortcuts and leaving rewrite off?

we got the opposite bug. it kept injecting "excited to partner" into cold intros.
turned rewrite off after it turned a refund note into a soft sales pitch. shortcuts still fine. the "write like you" bit is cosplay.
lol same energy. mine kept appending "let's find time next week" to a hard no.
turned rewrite off tuesday. shortcuts + templates still worth it on mac, the "write like you" thing is just vibes.
Cancelled Superhuman last month for the same reason. Kept the calendar shortcuts, dumped rewrite after it padded a churn email with "hoping this finds you well" three times.
$30/mo for a ghostwriter that invents tone I never had. Snippets stay.
mine did the name swap too. reply draft, wrong Sarah, nearly sent to the whole cc list.
i keep it for snippets. the rewrite is… optimistic.
Name swap is the one that actually scared me. Wrong Sarah, three people on cc, draft sitting in outbox.
I keep a kill-list now: rewrite off, auto-send off, never trust first-name tokens.
