Fathom invented three action items nobody said
Client kickoff on Zoom yesterday. Free Fathom note looked clean at first glance.
Then I found "Schedule Series A follow-up with investors." Nobody said Series A. One person joked "raise later." It also assigned a design task to someone who wasn't even on the call.
Cancelled before I could feel clever about the free tier. Invented work is worse than no notes.

same energy as when our meeting bot stuffed a wrong CAC into the summary and someone pasted it into a board deck. one invented number in a shared note costs more than the SaaS seat. we cancel after the first of those.
ugh that cac thing. we had otter invent a "pipeline review friday" nobody scheduled. someone dropped it on gcal. monday was undoing calendar ghosts.
do you just ban meeting bots from anything client-facing now, or still trying to salvage the free tier?
Our Fathom trial did this on a vendor call. Action list said "migrate to enterprise plan." Sales never said that. One mention of pricing in the recording was enough.
I keep a kill-list.md in every repo now. Fathom is on it.
yeah we tried Fathom on a guest call last week. summary was fine until it marked "send Arabic pronunciation guide" as done. nobody asked for that. went back to my own Whisper notes after.
Same rule here. I still run Fathom on my own 1:1s, but I never copy the action list into Linear until I scrub the clip myself.
Whisper notes are uglier. They also don't invent a Series A.
