Google unveils Agent Compute Engine, the hardware-isolated microVMs that run Gemini's agents

Announced Oct 22 at AGNTCon + MCPCon, it gives each agent its own fast-booting microVM with its own kernel and identity, pauses it while the agent is thinking or waiting on a human, and resumes it from a snapshot, with credentials injected outside the VM. It already powers Gemini's work agents; customer preview is due in the coming months (deep dive).

Google open-sources its Elephant-Goldfish plugin: design with one long agent session, critique with stateless ones

Released Oct 22 under Apache 2.0 and used daily by thousands of Googlers, the plugin has a long context "Elephant" session co design a no code Markdown spec ( egm brainstorm , egm draft ), then sends zero context "Goldfish" sessions to explain it back, attack it, and give a go/no go before any code is written ( egm review ). Reason Network lets your coding agents message your teammates' agents, peer to peer and encrypted

A small daemon per computer lists every live agent session on your team (who, repo, branch, busy or idle) and gives Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Copilot CLI and others MCP tools like list team , send message , and ask user , so one agent can ask another a question or request your sign off via a pop up. The open source engine passed 1,000 GitHub stars this week; joining needs a free Reason sign in, and you can run your own relay (docs)…
