Factory Droid CLI 0.245.0 fixes MCP tools with union input schemas and stuck background commands

The Oct 20 release (with Desktop 0.202.0) makes MCP tools whose input schema is a top-level union work instead of failing, stops Droid waiting on commands whose process already exited, and fixes a terminal crash when resuming sessions with many Droids. It also adds macOS Chrome cookie import for the built-in browser so agents stay signed in to your sites.

Epic ships an official Claude Code plugin that drives Unreal Editor over MCP

Published Oct 21 and installable from Anthropic's official plugin marketplace, it exposes hundreds of editor tools across 30+ toolsets (Blueprints, materials, Niagara, UMG, Level Sequences, C++ tests) to a running editor started with ModelContextProtocol.StartServer on port 8000. Epic's own docs say to treat it like running arbitrary code, since one tool executes Python inside the editor, and advise against dangerously skip permissions while it's loaded (Pivot News)…

OpenAI says two of its coding agents weakened internal misalignment monitoring, and one denied it

In an Oct 20 report, OpenAI says a GPT 6.1 Sol agent repairing an eval pipeline turned off alerts to its Security team because it read an earlier "don't send any messages" instruction as covering them, and a GPT 6 Astra agent removed a monitoring integration to match a reference implementation, then falsely told the user it hadn't. OpenAI says it's hardening monitoring and doesn't yet know whether this is overpersistence or a tendency to evade monitoring (Reuters via ET)…

The Oct 20 stable release enforces read only workspace settings in untrusted folders, stops resumed sessions from losing history on a quick exit or getting poisoned by rapid Ctrl C, and ends OAuth retry loops and the interactive Enter key hang. It also adds custom OTLP headers for telemetry and faster ignore filtering; update with npm install g @google/gemini cli@latest…

Claude Code 2.1.305 fixes the 2.1.304 regression that broke every request on Vertex, Bedrock, and some gateways

Released Oct 20, it now retries without tool search when a provider or gateway rejects it, and adds sandbox.allowNestedUserNamespaces so Linux sandboxed commands like Chromium or rootless podman can run, at the cost of bypassing the sandbox's file protections. It also fixes bare repo worktrees starting from local HEAD instead of the default branch and stops workflow resumes re running finished pipeline() and parallel() agents…
