Anthropic replaces Git with Scion after Claude-driven merges hit 30k/day
Daily monorepo merges rose from ~2,500 in May to over 30,000 by September as Claude scaled agent work, so a seven-person team built Scion—an online, server-centric VCS—and migrated off Git in five months alongside Antique code review. CI/research checkouts are about 100× faster and source-control CPU/memory about 200× smaller; Scion is internal-only and not pitched as a general Git replacement.
