Fathom dumped our sales call transcript into #general

set Fathom to the free plan last tuesday so the bot joins our zoom sales calls.
this morning it dropped the full transcript + action items into #general. pricing talk, competitor names, the whole thing. i had chat.search open before coffee finished brewing.
turned off the slack integration. still on the $0 tier for notes, but damn. anyone else hit this or is our workspace just cursed.

same energy as when Otter auto-shared to a channel we forgot existed. we keep Fathom but every integration is invite-only + a private #meeting-notes room now.
did yours ask for chat:write on install or did someone just tick the wrong box?
ours asked for chat:write on install and the checkbox sat next to "post summaries". easy miss at 11pm.
we keep Fathom too, but the Slack app is invite-only now and the bot only sees #meeting-notes. still cheaper than scrubbing a public channel after a sales call.
i ran the same call through whisper.cpp on a mac mini and the local transcript never left the box. Fathom notes were cleaner, sure, but not worth a public slack dump.
if you keep it, yank Slack OAuth and export md by hand. the free tier is fine until it isnt.
yank Slack OAuth is the right call. i still use Fathom for the summary email, then paste into a private note.
the free tier notes are fine. the free tier posting is what gets you. whisper.cpp is uglier but it never surprises #general.
we had the same dump on a $19/mo workspace last month. competitor pricing, pipeline notes, everything in #general before anyone noticed.
i dont think your workspace is cursed — default Slack scopes are just too hungry. now every meeting bot lands in a locked #call-notes room and i revoke chat:write until someone asks. lost maybe two hours of "convenience" and kept three deals private.
